STEVE ERDMAN - PRESIDENT   

Steve Erdman began his career in real estate in 1977 by joining the firm of Goldrich and Kest, a company specializing in the development and construction of thousands of housing units and retirement facilities throughout California.

In 1983, Steve became a Vice President in charge of Goldrich and Kest’s entire Construction Operations division including all phases of the development process. Steve managed multiple projects, including large developments of multi family subsidized apartment projects, high-end and high-rise apartments, condominiums and single-family homes, housing tracts, board and care facilities, convalescent hospitals, hotels, commercial, and large industrial projects.

He has a wealth of experience in dealing with many government and public agencies such as HUD, CRA, CHFA, OSHPUD, Los Angeles Housing Department, universities, non-profit organizations, and has extensive practice doing business with numerous city and county officials throughout the state.

In 1990, Steve began to develop projects on his own as the Owner and President of Canfield Development, Inc.  He develops apartments, condominiums and custom homes in the Los Angeles area. 


SERGE SHIRIKJIAN - CFO

Serge Shirikjian earned his MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from USC. He was formerly a Certified Public Accountant.

Serge began his professional career at Disney and in the public accounting firms of BDO Seidman and Deloitte & Touche.  From 2002 to 2006, Serge worked at Westfield, Inc. as a project controller, primarily involved in acquisitions and operations of shopping malls.   His focus was on accounting and finance functions of a portfolio of malls.   

In 2006, Serge joined Live Nation as a director of real estate acquisitions and development finance.  In that role, Serge was in charge of analyzing and executing the company’s real estate expansion strategy. The company is involved in acquiring and operating clubs, theaters (including “The House of Blues”) and amphitheaters as well as promoting music concerts.

Serge joined Canfield Development in 2008 as a Chief Financial Officer.  He is responsible for financial analysis, tax planning and management of Canfield Development’s projects and investments.  Additionally, Serge oversees and structures sales and acquisition transactions, debt and equity placements. 


BRIAN GELT - VP, CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT 

Brian joined Canfield in January of 2011 as Vice President responsible for the Company’s due diligence, entitlement, permitting, and construction activities.  In addition, he assists the Executive Team in land acquisitions and feasibility underwriting.  

Brian began his career estimating and managing commercial construction projects for Lusardi Construction Company.  He worked for Jackson Pendo Development and Williams Homes managing the entitlement and construction processes of infill residential development projects.  In his career, Brian built hundreds of single-family and multi-family units, repositioned hotels, entitled a retail center, and advanced the Specific Plan and EIR on a 5,000 acre master planned community.  

Brian earned Masters of Real Estate Development (MRED) degree from USC and a bachelor’s degree in City Planning as a scholarship athlete from San Diego State University.  Brian also holds a California Real Estate Broker’s license and a California B Contractor’s license.  

Brian is active in USC’s Graduate of Real Estate Association, National Association of Home Builders, and Urban Land Institute.


Jared Brenner-Goldstein - Development and Acquisitions Manager

Jared joined Canfield in 2015 as the development and acquisitions manager. He is responsible for overseeing entitlements, development, land acquisition and underwriting new development opportunities. 

Prior to his current position, Jared worked as a real estate development consultant in Boston, Massachusetts. He was responsible for feasibility analysis on residential and commercial development projects, property acquisition and disposition, negotiations with public and private lenders, analyzing the use of various tax credit programs and overall project management. Additionally, while in Boston, he served as advisor to the investments committee of The Franklin Square House Foundation. Prior to his career in real estate, Jared worked at Fisher Investments.  He has interned for the housing investment firm, Boston Capital, and for The Community Builders, an affordable housing developer.

In 2006 Jared graduated from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, with a double major in business management and entrepreneurship. He also holds a Masters in Real Estate Development (MRED) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern California.  Jared served as the Vice President of the USC Graduate Real Estate Association, where he oversaw Alumni Relations and is currently an active member in ULI, NAIOP and ICSC.v
